It's good to see you too Salty!! How are you doing mate?
I need to stop by more often, because Carmen wants to settle down so I'm on the lookout for some property to buy around here. |

I learned to fence at the academy! And before I start a new game, I always warm up with a visit to the Dance School to brush up on my terpsichory. |

OK Gun, I had not realized I hadn't played the game in several months (possilbly 6 months), so I fired it up again.
Named my Pirate Gun Pierson in your honor!
I wanted a quick, snappy game so I chose Adventurer level, Navigation as the skill and English in 1660.
I sailed into St. Kitts, found about a Dutch Smuggler in a Pinnace so I went after him and took his ship and made it my flagship. Then I sailed back into harbor and got ready to voyage. I then sailed due south and took out two Treasure Ships and the game was off to a good start.
I focused on the real mission of the game - liberate your four relatives and bring Monty to justice. That's what I did and halfway through the game I captured a War Canoe and made it my flagship. I went ahead and found all four Lost Cities but did not concentrate on getting all promotions or all points. I finished as Duke for France and the Dutch and married a French beauty from Florida Keys. I retired in Curacao as Governor with 116 points but the important thing was I was 29 and in good health.
The game went quickly and I was happy to retire in good health, keeps things in perspective. Following Gun's advice of using small boats really does cut 2 years off the game time!!!
Thanks Gun! |

One of the strongest candidates for the location of Atlantis - it's just beyond the Pillars of Hercules! |

I am leaning strongly in the direction of Santorini as being Atlantis. There are good TV shows out there documenting their findings and Santorini in the Greek Islands looks like the winner to me.
I have already booked our next cruise - we will be returning to the Caribbean just like 2 years ago. I will be sailing the Spanish Main too! Ports from the SMP game will include: Florida Keys (Key West), San Juan, St. Martin and Curacao. We will also visit St. Thomas, Dominica, Aruba and Grand Cayman Island. Should be fun with lots of sun and warm water to play in. |
