I took my Toyota in today for an oil change. The place is mobbed! They said they are selling more cars this weekend than ever before. That is because the new tax laws won’t allow people in this state to write off their sales taxes when doing their annual income taxes, while you can still do that thru Dec 31st. So, anyone thinking about getting a new car is doing it right now while they can still write off the sales tax. |

Makes sense. My wife is an accountant by training. She's been telling everybody to prepay real estate taxes and what-not. We had quite a lot of medical expenses this year, so it doesn't look like we will owe much. We can afford some last minute charitable donations. |

I hope everyone has a happy and safe New Year's Eve. The weather forecast here calls for freezing rain this evening. I'm staying home. |

That was pretty much normal weather for New Year's Eve when I lived in PA. Usually I stayed home and when I didn't I would regret it. The driving was too adventurous between the ice and the drunks.
We're in a sub zero scenario here in WI. Easier to deal with. We canceled our plans because my wife got the flu and is recovering. So we'll be staying home, too. |

Happy New Year! Don’t drink to much rum or you’ll loot and plunder like a pirate and be behind bars before sunup. Well at least New Years here is a little easier to celebrate then Tet. It ain’t two hour celebration at your local bar like it is here. That thing lasts for days. |

We went to a wonderful square dance last night. About 110 people there and everyone was having the best time. No alcohol there I had one drink when I got home at 1:15 AM. Had a great evening. Happy New Year to everyone! |

I had a brandy slush after dinner, but I was to be a back-up designated driver on call, so that was all I drank.
Then after I went to bed I got the flu, too. Well, my luck can only improve the rest of the year! |
