Where is Sparticus then? Razz

He was last seen in these parts on May 5. Should we send out a search party?

I'm back!

I wasn't the most active member here back in 2005 when I joined, but I did start a story on the Circle of Pirates board. It's based on some vague ideas I got while playing the game, such as:
Who's on board those immigrant ships? Would my pirate ever meet any of those people?
What if governors who needed an errand run didn't give you a choice?
What if men really had to learn to dance like that?
Why is there always one ship in my fleet that runs aground?

I started the story in 2005, then added some more in 2013. Now in 2017, I'm back, and I have the whole story figured out in my head, so I intend to finish it. Great timing--looks like there's nobody around anymore to read it. Smile

Anyway, if you're interested, take a look. It's called "Pirate Fiction -- Blackthorne's Story." Feel free to comment in replies so I'll know someone is actually reading it. Smile

I have been reading it. It is surprisingly well done; I am very choosy and critical of the stories I read (and am hardest on myself). I like yours, I am always pleased to see a new part posted. Keep it up!

I've been reading it, and enjoying it. Smile I haven't commented a lot in the story thread as I don't like to disrupt a story line with my comments. I feel when people go to a story thread they want to read the story, not my comments on it.

Same. On another forums I was on, story tellers would post a separate thread (with a link to the story thread and vice-versa) specifically for comments. That might be a good idea.

I agree. Should it go on the same board?

Aye, it should. Title it the same as the story, but add "comments" to it. That way, we can tell.

This place is still active in 2018. Shocked

Yeah, I'm not into gaming very much. Dota 2 is not exactly fun, but Dota 2 was the last title I was into seriously.

I revisited Prince of Persia (2008 video game), which inspired an interest in pre-Islamic Persia.

Boy, do we live in interesting times! Shocked I think you know what I am talking about when I say this.

It is nice to see everyone. This quite a rare gem of a community. This community was something special, and I'll likely never experience anything like this, again.

Send me a direct message through Hooked On PIrates, if you want to keep in touch with me on other Internet mediums outside this website.

I am not putting any way to contact me to avoid being spammed, linking my identity to this website, etc.; you'll have to PM me.

Times have changed. I have changed.

Yeah we still here. I trying to keep them all entertained without getting keel hauled, marooned, etc. One thing for sure the earth would end if I could go back to 2005 and post some of my stuff.

Nice to see you too mate. I absolutely agree this is a rare gem of a community. Special shout-out to the people who kept and keep the boat floating! Returning to these boards always feels a bit like coming home.

It's always fun to pop back in every now and then and I still regret that they haven't been able to make a sequel (or another remake at this point), so that we could revive these forums more properly! Smile
