I've yet to read a single guide on Pirates! dancing, but I've found a technique I find nigh unfallible.

1. Drink a lot of rum, booze, and/or beer.
2. Listen to a crapload Strauss.

Results

1. You quickly find yourself perfectly swinging to 3/4 time; flourish after flourish.
2. You dance alongside the game with your keyboard/console controller inhand. Wink

It kills me, only Pyrates, Germans, and Gershwin use 3/4 time.

That will work fine until you attend a ball where the orchestra is playing a tune in 4/4 time!
