We were not complaining about the suggestion. We were complaining about the game.

I´m with you! And, as you, I can only write in a five-yo-boy-english´s...

But, as i said in others topics, I feel necesary to tell Firaxis what we think abotu the game and, moreover, what they should DO to improve in the game...

Maybe, it could be a good idea to sum up what a lot of us write in the topic about the patch to send them our ideas about how to improve the game...

I also suspect that they´ll not consider all we tell them, but, for me, it´s a good idea to try it...

First of all Kensai your English is just fine. I understand what you are saying. Don't belittle yourself and say your english isn't good. It is in fact excellent. Also don't give up on sending them an e-mail. If you feel like doing that then you should do it. I'll sign your petition. What Rupert is trying to say I think is that he has tried and hasn't gotten a responce either via email or by a new patch coming out. He is probably frustrated with them. The more feed back that Firaxis gets from people that have spent their hard earned money on the game the better. If they don't see their failing ways then maybe another game company will see it and pick up the game and make a go if it themselves. Don't give up Kensai.... You are doing a good thing. Thumbs Up

Well - A sailing Ship is no Rocket you know - it might be still en-route - or even lost at sea.

I think that is a good idea to end of whinning, and write an open letter from the fans of the game, to Firaxis, telling why we love this game, but at the same time, as consumers, that most of us fell cheated in many ways, by a wonderfull product that could be one of the best games of all times, and something was missed.

I'll sign that letter as well but a game which was released in 2004 and now sells in the shops at £ 5 will not get a remake any more. Still, lets tell the makers what they missed in case there will be a new game.

1. Issue: The game path always follows the same pattern if you want to finish on maximum points. Find evil guys who tell you about a member of the family, find that member, find next guy, find next member, find big guy, always the same. And you can not spent too much time doing something else as then you won't finish the game with everything found.

=> Fix: Have maybe more family members but have random locations for them which means I do not find each in a cabin in the forest but some could be barmaids or sailors you come across by accident if you visit all places or if you meet people who give you hints about there whereabouts. A cabin in the forest is not bad but please, not for every member. Put one in jail and have you bail him out or take the city to free him. Also let us chase multiple members at the same time.

2. Issue: The nations are too good. Capture one ship from them and one pirate ship and they praise you. In reality they would hang you. It does not make sense that you capture all ships and all nations award titels. In reality all nations would hunt you.

=> Fix: No idea, find a better point system. Why should not finding certain relatives lead to not-becoming a governor? That does not make any sense. One could have different point categories: happyness - health - prosperity - fame

3. Issue: Noone is a personality. One should "meet" lots of people who have different likes and dislikes and who act accordingly. A governor of a nation which does not like you may still personally like you and do favours for you. Some pirates may personally like you and join you on a temporary base if you share the loot for a treasure ship or town.

=> Fix: give ship commanders, governors, barkeepers, (maybe one viceroy for each nation), pirates, travellers, experts in your team, etc. names and individual personalities, abilities and attitudes towards you.

4. Issue: The taks are really cheap. Typically you escort something to the next city and two brigs attack you. That is it. How boring.

=> Fix: Have random tasks. Take travellers over the map. Find objects for governors and deliver them. Find people who tell you about town weaknesses.

5. Issue: You can only plunder and sink/keep ships.

=> Fix: What about holding crew members for ransom ? What about taking the gold of a ship and let it go again ? What about trading with ships ? Let them deliver messages for you if you want to talk to a governor who does not let you in his city.

The game is not bad but becomes very repetitive when you play it. Worse, each game you play is more or less the same.

Issue: Lack of modability
Fix: Give the sequel the same support and mod tools available that you gave civ4.

Sailor the veiw of the ships when sailing's o bad. The veiw should be like that of sea of thieves. And the ships only have broad side cannons so bad o that. The ships should have broad side, stern, bow and deck cannons. Also the pirates should be only that of the 16th century and every pirate should belong to their main country based on history. And the pirates should be more than 9 maybe 50-55 some against you and the ones from the same nation as you will support you. But even others from other nations might betray their nation to side you

I get a much better pirate feel experience with the feel graphics and battle experience with Sea Dogs the oldie but goodie. SMP is better with the ship fighting scenes but take that away you would have a lousy seafaring experience.
