i love it when i go in to a tavern and the dude in the back has awsome stuff and i have enough money! i went in once and i got a leather vest. then, after dancing with some spanish daughter, i got a metal cuirass and i thought that was great! can i wear both or do i have to pick?

Once you get the metal cuirass you don't get to use the leather vest anymore. Same with the pistols, swords, dancing gear etc... |

But it's not problem as the metal cuirass will deflect more thrusts from the enemy than the leather vest will.

Maybe buit i have a tough time beating monty wothout metal.

If you have a hard time beating Monty, just bombard his ship until his crew is down to 1. You can't sink his ship. After that the sword fighting is easy... He gives up.

I would think that your best bet is to use a mod to change your character's appearance, and still use the cuirass. As was already pointed out, it is better than the leather version. |

On Rogue, my opponents don't get through my defense often enough for the vest/cuirass to make much of a difference. (Like you, I normally use my cutlass for the tough fights.) But I would certainly want the cuirass before I raided Montalban's lair on Swashbuckler. |

I agree 100% with you on that. I prefer the vest over that "tin-can" cuirass anyday.
