After nearly fifteen years of rescuing my family members, digging up pirate treasures, capturing Treasure Galleons, taking over cities, and defeating legendary pirates, I was finally provided with a map showing me the long-sought-after map to the evil Marquis de la Montalban's lair. The map told me that the Marquis' lair was north of Vera Cruz. I made my way there, stopping at a few different ports to gather more men and food, and even took a detour to visit my beautiful wife in Grand Bahama, should I not return from the battle. On the way, I ran into Indians, pirates, and Spanish raiders who would attempt to attack an English port, city, or settlement, all of them easily falling to my fully-upgraded Flag Galleon. Eventually, I finally reached the coast north of Vera Cruz. Me and my crew scanned the area fruitlessly, until my first mate called out; he had spotted a fortress in the distance! I gathered my crew of nearly 400 men, and we began to march toward the fortress. I could swear I saw the vile Marquis himself, standing on the edge as if he were waiting for us! As we neared the fortress, a group of Indian mercenaries intercepted us. Heh, there were only probably 200 of them at the most, and they quickly turned tail when my crewmen took a good amount of them out with musket fire. When the last of the Indians retreated, we charged the fortress. My crew mopped up the rest of the Indians, while I ran up the stairs to confront the man responsible for twenty-five years of pain! "Montalban!" I shouted. I drew my rapier, and ran at him. He casually stepped down from the parapet, and drew his own rapier. He parried my swing, and he pointed his sword at my neck, hooking my amulet in the process. "You..." he muttered. "You're the boy who got away." He sneered, tore my amulet off, and tossed it aside. The duel then started. He proved to be quite a good swordsman for his age. After what seemed like hours, with the sun beginning to sink below the horizon, I finally caught the Marquis off-guard with a punch to his nose. His sword flew out of his hand, and I caught it. Swords crossed at his neck, the Marquis sunk to his knees in defeat. He called me a master swordsman, gave me back the 100,000 he'd taken from my family, and even offered his own services and that of his specialists to me. It satisfied me to think that after all these years, the vile Marquis would be subservient to me. I took him to my ship, and immediately put him to work. I then returned to Grand Bahama, and joined my lovely wife at the grand ball.

I hope you like my story of the defeat of Montalban Razz

Yes - it was a good read - and is does give satisfaction when after all the pain that Montalban inflicted that he became subservient.

Though - if it was not for what Montalban did - then there would not be much of a game left... Smile

Yeah, it was a good feeling indeed! And to make it better, my post-Montalban life only got better, despite the years catching up to me. I found the four Lost Cities, defeated that scoundrel Blackbeard (the only pirate I hadn't defeated yet,) and ended up retiring at the age of 43 in Grand Bahama. I lived a splendid life with my beautiful wife, and even succeeded her father as Governor
