Ok news has been stated and the patch is being worked on ... I need your help to clear some of these things up and see if anyone can get what is asked to be repeated please

This sounds like a hardware issue. If it was us, it would not have been fixed by a restart.

While marching men got stuck in infinite loop of wanting to return to ship or stay on land. Would not accept either option. Marching to Santa Domingo near the actual Fort before the town.
I need to know if this is an "always" bug in this (or any location). If you could get us a save for this or solid steps to reproduce, it would help a lot.

Running the game with anti-aliasing turned on causes flickering in some of the cutscenes. (PF note: known issue and is on hot list to get fixed)
Players should always leave their card set so that control of anti-aliasing is left with the software. I know it seems like you should be able to crank the settings of the card all the way up, but any game (Doom 3, HL2, etc.) will run better when the software controls the AA (among other things). Setting the card to the "Balanced" setting will fix this issue.

The is a noticeable slowdown of the game when ships fire their cannons at the same time during a sea battle.
I have not noticed this - any idea what the system specs are on this machine?

Nations will give promotions even though there has been recent hostility towards them. Sacking two French cities yesterday, only to have the French mayor promote to major on next visit to French town.
It might seem strange at times, but it works the way Sid intended. If your good deeds sufficiently outweigh your bad ones, this can happen. Also, there is "local" goodwill that factors in things like when you escort the new Governor to a town.

There should really be an option to attack a town when you enter it. Sometimes firing upon town does not get the option.
I have never seen the option not come up after a couple shots. Is this a consistent issue?

I am sure there are more issues but these were the minor inconveniences, exploits, or video driver issues.
There's nothing we can do about driver issues, that remains the domain of the hardware manufacturer. I would love to know more exploits, though, so please send any of those along you can find - the food thing is a great example.


There is no set date on the patch but it is in process and would like everyone to help out pleases only important information about these issues or especially exploits in the game to further help the patch be all it can be. I mean given the circumstances the game has come out better than most games have ever come out on a final release.

Great news, PiratesFan!

Another exploit in a need of fixing would probably be that you can sack a single town zillions of times in a row, give it to a different nationality each time and gain full ranks in each of the four nationalities in the game in a very short time. (Of course, the thread "Please fix this in the patch" contains a lot of info already on many relevant issues...)

Yeah well i am trying to keep this in easy to read format for myself... Sometimes hard digging through other topics. Plus I am trying to keep this information organized so I can send a list if possible of new issues or exploits. Not always easy when you disappear for a month or 2 ... Laughing

Rules:

Please keep it brief but as detailed as possible.
If you have saved game instances of wierd loops happening please let me know .. that is if you can save this weird loop.
No Trouble shooting in here if possible... if technical issue that needs trouble shooting find old post or create a new topic about it Smile

For a small wish, isolate Pirate from Player for ship graphics.
Like ship colors, pennent, small sail.
Also the small sail currently displays randomly while on the main sailing screen. I mean, different ships of the same type in my fleet display different graphics and they change too. They always display the pirate small sail while at the shipwright.

It still sounds like they are denying that they are at fault with any and all video issues. If the blue type was his response to the questions, it doesn't sound like they believe there are any issues, and that nothing much is going to be done at all.

There is another huge exploit that needs to be fixed. If you eliminate all the cities and towns (not settlements) of a nation, then that nation's ships will carry an insane amount of gold. I am currently playing a game as the Spanish in the 1600 era. I took out the 3 other nations within the first 3 years of the game. I do escort missions. One of the other 3 nations will send two ships to intercept the mission. It is not uncommon to get up to 50,000 gold between the two ships. That is more than any Military Payroll ship or the entire Treasure Fleet. The only thing that comes close, or is better, is if Morgan or Blackbeard are in a good shipping area and you leave them for 20 years to do their thing, but these are ordinary boats. In this game of mine, I am going to be able to plunder over 3 Million Gold by the time I am 45 years old.

EDIT I don't care what they think, or say. If a bink video plays perfectly in the Bink Player, but not in the game, then the fault is not with any hardware, but rather it's with how it was set up to play in the game.

Figured out how to reproduce a few bugs.

If you have a ship being escorted, if you select the escort ship to be attacked, and then capture the escort ship, you do not get the option to sink it and it does not explode and drop its crew it is just gone. However, if you either capture the escortee first or select the escortee to be attacked, everything works as expected.

edit: actually I think it may be the other way around. Damn. Sorry...now I'm not sure.


In a similar vein if you select the escortee to be attacked, then capture it, then attack the ship that was the escort, when you look at its plunder it has its own stuff PLUS the stuff the escorted ship was carrying. I just attacked an escort ship like that and got 67 spice, and33 luxuries...and it was a 50 ton ship! Heh

I don't know if this is a bug, but it happened to me the third time in a row now.

Whenever Blackbeard's home harbour is in the area between Villa Hermosa and Campeche, I have an error happening. Could be a graphic glitch or something. (Graphic card is the latest Geforce with all updated drivers.)

I was approaching a Spanish galleon with an accompanying fast galleon near Villa Hermosa when out of the blue cannon balls from another direction were aimed at the ships. I turned my own ships to have better wind conditions and then I got this description popping up at the origin of the cannon balls saying it was Blackbeard. However, no ship to be seen.

Once this even happened when I first saw his ship sail away in the diection of Vera Cruz. But still, without the ship returning somebody started to shoot again at the ship I was planning to attack - and it was Blackbeard who had just sailed away.

It only happens with Blackbeard and only if his harbour is in that area I mentioned.

noticed in my current game that large pirate ships laying off pirate havens can be "sailed through" without triggering an attack. note that all named pirates have been found and dealt with at this point.

A bug that should not be too difficult to fix:

Graphics: The rapier is the balanced sword set (2nd best set) looks like a sabre/saber rather than a rapier. Perhaps some sword graphics got mixed up somewhere?

They will likely do as much as they can in a certain timeframe,a nd then tell us what they got done after. The will probably concentrate on any lockups more than anything. I am hoping they do more than that, though.
