I turned Petit Goave English, and married the beautiful daughter of the governor, the Spanish Invasion fleet captured Petit Goave and my wife turned into the beautiful Spanish daughter (I like them better anyway) of Petit Goave. |

Does anyone know what would happen if you deliberatley sacked the city of your wife? Would she then reset to a romance score of 0? And if that is the case, can you then re-marry?
I'll test this when I get back home, seeings hows the last save I have for my Adventurer game is right outside Nassur (where my honey is), and I've a ship of 400 blood-thursty men at my command.
But if someone can post a reply within the next hour and a half, I would appreciate it

QBRADQ | You cannot convert the town where your wife lives.
As for sacking a town that has only a romantic interest.
You can certainly do it.
Sometimes it resets to romance 0, once in a while it just keeps going. Not entirely consistent here. |

So, does that mean that if another national power overtakes the city where my wife lives, I can't convert it back?
That could be a liability in my world domination stratagey...

Suppose I'll take that as a "yea, that's right". Eh, so I'll make sure to marry into a strong city if I'm trying to take over the (visible) world
Thanks Rupert.

That is correct.
If you want your original wife back, the best thing you can do is help the country of your wife's origin to retake the city. You can help that along by making sure the garrison doesn't get too strong. Take out all incoming troop ships while harassing trade to weaken the economy. |

Hmm... I think a re-marry option is badily needed here. Or, like one wife per nationaility is probably needed. |

So if someone besides me takes over the city with my wife, she'll remain my wife, right? |

If you have patch 1.0.2 installed (which you probably do if you bought the game recently), the AI cannot sack a town once you've rescued the daughter from it.
(Something to think about before saying "I'll get on that right away." Do you really want to rescue a daughter and take that town out of play in terms of changing the nationality?) |

Well, what I could see, invasion fleets go for cities that have already been conquered once by someone. So if you choose a city which hasn't changed governors yet, then you can have a bigger chance of this not happening. IMO... |
