The response to Q's 4 & 5 begs the question...Is there a patch that was in the works, sidetracked, and now needs to be dusted off and completed 
Or is it that any additional patch is just now being considered?

Have to remember that Firaxis has patched their earlier games, such as Civilization, rather regularly, so I'd not throw my sword into the corner yet, especially given what Barry stated in his responses.
BTW: The original response from Barry was not repeated twice. He merely said "4&5: We should be able to get back on the patch train (Both US and Europe) once the dust settles on this new deal." For the sake of clarity (and to present the original questions) PF presented the questions separately, but repeated the response.

As stated above Barry did only give one response to both questions. I wanted to keep the origianl questions. There is no patch that needs to be dusted off as far as I know, but when a publisher and a developer have a falling out its hard to keep working.
Also as stated above, Firaxis or any sid game for that matter has always had a good track record of supporting the fans and giving patches in a timely manner if given the chance.
It may not be as quickly as you would like it or I in this case but it's better than getting NOTHING which a lot of game companies have been known to do.
Who knows Rupert they may pleasantly suprise you or they may prove you right. Only time will tell and I am going to wait for the dust settle with their new publishing company and see if they and Firaxis come out with what we are looking for. |
