|
|
well, I got that horribe map with no landmarks or shoreline as the location of a Lost city, and was totally lost.
I remember reading about it in the forums, so I searched, and found a couple good threads. They had really good hints that got me in the right direction, but I still had to search a bit.
I culdn't find any screenshots, so I thought I would add some to help others in the future.
Here's the map I got:

The idea of heading north until you find a landmark (even though it is not on the map) and then heading east was Excellent. The problem was, I had three landmarks. It was the northernmost one. (near the Rio Grande in Texas.)
It is in this area:

Hope it helps. This was worse than the bay of Honduras one![/code]

You need to convert it to a jpg file. Bmp files don't show up. _________________

When you get a map like that you just have to keep landing ashore and looking for the Deserted Cabins. If you don't see one, move on. It is slow and tedious and you may want to reload your game after a long, unsuccessful search. Patience is required for a map like this one. Experience helps out here.
Good luck!

IT JUST SO HAPPENS!!!!! Thanks. I was here reluctantly looking forward to making a thorough search of all of Mexico. I think I'll try your spot first. You just added ten years to my life! _________________

I have to thank you again. You solved a cunundrum (sp?) for me. I'd have been tromping up and down Mexico for years had you not posted this. INSTEAD, one-two-three-four...I found three cities and Monte's house right where you said they'd be! Good show! _________________

Awesome! That makes me feel good.
All kinds of other people in these forums offered the advice that actually helped me to find the city that was in that area in my game. I thought some screenies would help. Pix are worth a thousand words as they say!
PS: I just noticed the new pirate "smilies" to the left. Are they new? _________________
