Very nice... I am sure to ask that question when my congress person is up for re-elect.

Gee... the economic is still in slumb... people are still loosing job... not to mention... for each job opening there are more than 100 people competing for it... So... Congress man/lady... how would you do to show real "PROGRESS" on this labor issue?

Please FEDERAL EMPLOYEES are not to be counted... Job transfer is not to be counted... I am sure the Labor Statistics will show "RED" in job creation.

That's why we are playing Pirates... do make a REAL progress in our own very unique way Wink

CONGRESS - 1. An assembly of the deputies convened from different governments, to treat of peace or of other political affairs, is called a congress.
2. This name was anciently given in France, England and other countries, to the indecent intercourse between married persons in the presence of witnesses appointed by the courts, in cases when the husband or wife was charged by the other with impotence.

3. The name of the legislative body of the United States and is composed of two independent houses; the Senate and the House Of Representatives. U.S. Constitution, Art.1, s.1.

PROGRESS - Main Entry: 1.) prog·ress; Pronunciation: prä-grs, -gres, US also and Britain usually pr-gres; Function: noun; Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French progrés, from Latin progressus advance, from progredi to go forth, from pro- forward + gradi to go -- more at PRO-, GRADE
Date: 15th century: 1 a (1): a royal journey marked by pomp and pageant (2) : a state procession. b : a tour or circuit made by an official (as a judge) c : an expedition, journey, or march through a region 2 : a forward or onward movement (as to an objective or to a goal) : ADVANCE
3 : gradual betterment; especially : the progressive development of mankind.

The underlined definitions are what can best describe the current state of the terms. While the better known (definitions) are saved for latter, more archaic. Wink

P.S. One must observe that both terms have become bastardized over time.
