That's the Public Relations Specialist.

I'm starting to think I should have chosen the carpenter. Maybe he could have nailed a plank to the front of the ship. Then Old Henry could walk off the end of it and all of our problems would be solved! Very Happy Razz Wink

Bah if you even tried that your crew would mutiny, now matter how many fiddles and quartermasters you have Razz Razz Razz Razz

I'd be careful with that fiddle,Howie....we are talking pirates here, and you know what history says about that! Henry, with man boobs and a wig, dancing the TANGO..? ,several rum soaked outcasts...I'd say swim for it Howie, let Henry pay the fiddler!........NASSAU!

Sailmaker can make a visible difference after a tough fight far from port.

Though the cooper is a very close second in my book.... Definitely sail maker. How else do I keep my ships going as fast as possible?
I can cut myself down to one ship if I have a sail maker, as I know my sails will get repaired outside of port. When I don't have a sail maker I have to keep a back up pirating ship in case my sails get shredded when Im far away from port to switch over to for battle.
By keeping a sail maker, I can pick up more ships to sell on each run out of port and maximize my earning potential.
What can I say? I like to make the coinage...

I picked the gunner because with out him I kinda notice that I tend to sink to many tresure gals , and blow old Blackbeard and Henry out of the water.. the Gunny gets ye loaded with just the right amount of shot to go from ball to chain and if they ani't putting there flag down by then grapeshot is ready to go and that usally gets there attention to just surrender. I kinda likes to capture my prizes with minum damage and no fuss , don;t get me wrong thoe a little swordplay is always fun, but as you get older the Gunny makes life on the High seas alittle easier.

I like the cooper a lot because Mad men don't fight and food runs the boat

Being a Sloop captain you have two things to remember: Your crew and your poor guns (when compared to all others). So I say Gunner. Wink

Closely behind Quartermaster-Cooper-Cook, in no particular order.

While helmin' a sloop, you don't get hit, you truly just don't. Its nearly impossible. In the first 3 difficulties that is, maybe different in rogue/swashbuckler. Razz

Gunner makes up for the max of 20-22 guns on the Sloop and if you stack that on with the Gunner specialty, 60+ crew and all those silly upgrades you have one tough beast! Sailor

I've got to admit that my opinion changes on this all the time. It all depends on what my quest is all about. I'm about to start a new quest, so I'll wonder again, but this time, I'm thinking I'll want a Carpenter and Sailmaker.

However, when I get frisky, I likes me Gunner!

I like the navigator. Speed equals time. You can save a week or so sailing, say, from Port Royale to Antigua. A week here, a month there adds up.

I chose the sailmaker, although the carpenter and navigator are right up there for my favorites. Since time is of the essence, I want to sail as quickly as possible; sails in good condition help out foremost, I reckon.

I love the Carpenter. I am a dutch captain who frequents mainly the southernmost parts of the map. It is very difficult for me to be stopping in ports to repair my beauties (ships) often as there are few ports in the south that arnt spanish. I am, also hesitant to do much in Pirate Havens, because i am a dutch duke and they give me all of my ship repairs and upgrades for free, but only in dutch ports obviously. Plus, stopping in at dutch places often gets me more land, and i can sell my stuff for generally pretty high. Given that, I wont stop very opften in pirate ports to get repairs, i must stop in dutch ones which are scarce Rolling Eyes

So i need a Carpenter to keep my ships sailing Smile

The navigator is my favorite... I like to move from place to place faster and I think that a ship with a navigator is more faster in combat as well...
along with the cotton sails and the cooper plating, the navigator can make a Sloop a great Boarding ship! Twisted Evil
