Feel free to do an internet search for the fictional town that was the setting of the Howdy Doody Show.

I was figured it would be something Western sounding, probably ending in "Gulch," but it's Doodyville.

Didn't know that. I think it would have given me giggle fits as a kid.

What is the world's most traded food commodity? (It's not even close - number one outweighs two and three combined.)

No cheating. I'll give hints if necessary.

(Sorry for my long absences of late. Last week during the days of rain, my sump pump took a break and my basement flooded. I'm also under pressure at work to turn around my current task quickly, but it's approaching completion.)

Sorry about your basement.
I'm going to guess soybeans.

I used to both farm and trade commodities. But I don't recall the answer as a matter of fact. I'm totally overthinking this. Since soybeans are taken, my official guess is Corn +

Soybeans are a distant second, and corn is further down the list.

Hint: It's not a grain of any sort.

I'm going to guess sugar, both because it's Piratical!, and because there was a processing plant in Roland's city, as I recall.

Sugar isn't even in the top 10.

Hint: This product does not come from a plant.

Well, that rules out coffee, cocoa, and orange juice. Same for rice, the various wheats, oats, etc. I don't think it's fish meal, and feeder cattle are young cattle ready to be fed and fattened, too old for veal and too lean and small for beef, not cattle for food as such.

So it's probably hogs, cattle, or pork bellies.

But I've obviosly been wrong before, and my knowledge is 20 years out of date. I need to think about this some more, maybe I'll remember something else.

So, no official guess at this time. Interesting question, though.

We are in Seward, Alaska now and will drive to Anchorage. Having fun enjoying the Great Land!

The leading food source in the world, by far, is rice.
