The earliest recorded pole dance in the U.S was in (What state ?) in 1968 and was performed by Belle Jangles at Mugwumps strip joint. The craze took off and spread to Canada’s red light district in Vancouver, where pole dancing was featured throughout many nightclubs. The women would dress in themed costumes, use musical routines and dance seductively in their performances.

As best I recall, a Mugwump was a fictional animal which straddled fences with its mug on one side, and wump on the other. In Revolutionary times it was a slur used to describe people who couldn't choose a side...

Therefore, it must have been near a border, and the state closest to Vancouver is Washington.

Heck of a guess I'll give you credit for that but no it wasn't Washington. It borders Washington though just to let you know how close you were.

I live in Washington and the only two states that border WA are Oregon and Idaho and both have been guessed. So, I'm a little bit late!

I liked fleets answer too even though it is incorrect. I could picture some girl saying Idaho that first did that and now alldaho's are doing it.

LOL.

Now, the next question:

What toy has been banned from intelligence-gathering agencies and why?

Wait 36 hours before using Google.

I'll guess toy drones, because their camera feeds could be intercepted/hacked, if not the whole device.

I will guess a baby crib monitor. It is a camera that transmits its video and is an amateur surveillance unit.

While both of those are possible, they are not the subject of the article I read.

No, that is not it either. You are now free to Google.

A hint: They were a craze a few years ago.
