Does anyone have jlangsdo's original exe from the original version of this mod? maybe i should play that considering all the CTDs i get with the updated version? I have all the other files just not the modded executable

Jlangsdo did not include any Executable with the
original East Indies Mod

A perl script was included to patch the Executable
(use a Copy to patch)

smp_patch.pl : Script for applying the patch
East_Indies.patch : Patch file


From Jlangsdo's East Indies Mod Contents description:

The map is changed, the cities are changed.
The French have been replaced by the Portuguese,
and pepper is traded rather than sugar.

To get the full effect, you must patch the executable as
well as putting in the mod files. The patch changes the
starting nationalities and active dates of the different
cities, to allow the Indies to be dominated by the
Portuguese in 1600 and then fall into Dutch hands.
The patch file also changes more snippets of text
from French to Portuguese.


Since PC users can have issues with running Perl
(adding Perl to the system path,
resolved by the Strawberry Perl Installer)

Pirate later did a Hex Edited Executable with the
script content pre-patched into the Executable
as a drop in replacement

AV Folder Exclusion recommended
as Hex Edited content may be blocked by the AV

Copyright Issues! with the Original Game Executable

The original Retail Disk Game executable also includes DRM

Official Retail Disk Game Patch 1.02 removes SecureRom
(required for Windows 10 or 11 as SecureRom is no longer supported)
but still includes a Disk Check
(checks for Game Disk present in the ROM Drive)

Use a Replacement Executable to bypass
or alternatively GOG or Steam Game versions at an additional cost
do not include this Disk check


Pirates - Alternate East Indies Executable is based on an Executable
Generated by the AdamMil - The Challenge Pack Mod

It is typically best to use the Executable if any, included with a mod
as that was what was tweaked & mod release tested

Pirate is probably best placed to answer that,
as he probably supplied the replacement executable
included in TMC's 2020 mod

I don't recall seeing any confirmation if
TMC's 2020 Mod Executable includes both slower aging
& the useless items tweaks

(pirate did include slower aging in the Executable
for the Jlangsdo's Original East Indies mod, but have not seen
any info confirming this, regarding the 2020 executable)

Minor Relations / Useless Items Mod - This mod fleshes out the relationships with the minor powers (pirates, Indians, and Jesuits), which were never implemented in the original game, and gives use to the Indian and Jesuit artifacts, which were therefore useless in the original game
(not as useless as first thought).
It also makes disguises more useful and fixes the Dutch rutter so it works correctly according to its description.


Slower Aging - This mod reduces the effects of aging by 25%. This is the only mod that makes the game easier, but the result is more realistic and it helps with finishing the more difficult game that results from applying the other mods.

I normally add the slower aging. Not sure what all I added in 2020 but i bet i said what was in it when i was posting screens on the project etc. Next time if that ever happens which i seriously doubt I will include a read me with the mods i make.

Thanks for the reply. Right now I'm enjoying your Caribbean mod, but next game (if there is a next game) will be the 2020 executable you created, so others could enjoy. Yes, your work and a smile back means more than all the money in the world.
