I was very disappointed that Pirates of the Burring Sea was MMO only - i was loving the screen shots and what the game would of been.
So perhaps I have blood and gold carribean and the pirate carribean hunt and plaque of the dead to try.
Can anyone make any recomendations as to what pirate sims to try? Besides what i just mentioned? |

Yeah Pirate beer pong. Line up mugs of beer in like a triangle formation on a rectangular table. Grab a partner and each dress like a pirate and talk like a pirate. Pirate theme decor helps set the mood but can be done without if it’s cost prohibitive. Each pirate gets a certain same amount of balls or if no balls then coins like a quarter can be flipped into the mugs instead of bouncing balls into them. Each pirate takes turns flipping or bouncing 5 or 10 balls or coins into the mugs. If you land in a mug the other drinks it. If you miss you wasted a shot. Object is to get the other guy drunk and passed out before you get drunk and passed out. Kinda like last man standing wins. There are many different ways to play but this is the pirate way. |

If you’re learning from me then sound advice would be to double check from somebody who passed the third grade and can afford to abide by the no shirt no shoes rule in place at must public faculties. Might end up in trouble if you don’t. Now if you’ll excuse me I need to clean shit out of the stalls, gather the chicken eggs, milk the cow before I can take the dogs out to possum hunt. Anybody want a possum? |

thank you helpful corsair. i came back just now to ask about sea dogs, pirate mentioned it a good series. Aside from the first, do the rest of those games have an authentic carribean map or are they all random map? Random map doesnt suit me well, it's got to be an historically correct map |

Sea Dogs is one of my personal favorites. Just like SMP it’s not getting the love it did in the past. Was a large modding community for it but not anymore. It doesn’t take place in the Caribbean either but rather a fictional setting called the archipelago with fictional fortress that can be attacked and unlike SMP entering a enemy city is much more challenging. Salty and his war canoe wouldn’t make it. The smallest ship is called a tartan and it unarmed. Those cannons the forts fire are lethal and knocking out all the fort cannons are necessary before entering. It over yet once inside you most win a sword fight with the fort commander. The way it works is the fort command and it’s canons are hidden as a non sailable ship and after knocking out the canons the fight starts when you board the city and the commander is always tough as he is but depending on how many sailers you still have alive and soldiers the fort has makes it either tougher or easier. I still have the game and all of Hoseheads mods like the Ellaby mod etc. No dancing in the game but you can marry a beautiful French woman and a pirate woman depending on completing quests and getting promotions Each country has a campaign including the pirates as well. |

I was looking at some screen shots on steam, i thought it seemed only the year 2000 version was a random map, another screen i clicked on seemed to show western cuba and the haiti territory. Is that true with the newer versions of sea dogs?
I don't mind at all Port Royale's way of zones of control compared to historical set up, at least they have a caribbean map. I can't deal with a random map |

I believe they do have the Caribbean map. I never played them and I don’t think they ever quite got as popular as Sea Dogs. The learning curve in Sea Dogs was hard enough but the others I heard were overwhelming for many. Sea Dogs I highly recommend but you’re gonna die a lot before you get any good at it. Save that game is necessary. The map is fictional but nothing random about it. It mimics the Caribbean with England France and the Spanish. No Dutch. The Spanish have treasure fleets in fact I believe all nations might can have them. Ship traffic is random but that’s modable too somewhat. Anyway I hope you find your game. Personally I’m satisfied with both SMP and Sea Dogs that I really don’t care about looking for a new one. Most pirate games on my phone aren’t my thing either I never liked Pirates of the Caribbean games on my phone and most of the other ones I tried. I’m not into tv console games either . All they are is a money racket I’d rather not get involved with. Phone games I prefer playing cards or shooting pool with other people around the world. I play Black Jack a lot. Haven’t played pool in awhile but I’ve been heavy into before. |
