Cash mod installed

Not sure who but I remember someone once mentioned a mod that would give the ability to give other users points of some sort. Found a cash mod which rewards postings, allows donations and apparently also exchanging cash between different currencies.

There are also some addons to the mod that sound interesting, will be checking those out.

Now, I have the following setup in mind:

- The forum will use the currencies of the original nations.
- Each forum will be assigned a currency.
- Exchange rates will be fictional unless someone knows what kind of exchange rates were current around the 1600's Smile

- Cheaters will be kicked out!

I'm keen to hear ideas on this. Remember I ain't a php wizard but if the system allows, I'll be trying to apply your suggestions.

Had a look at those addons and they're actually pretty cool. The best one is an addon that will create a shop in which you can spend your earned cash. These items then show up under your forum avatar.

Now, if we can find some piratey stuff to sell there, it could be good for a giggle. It's just meant to be silly anyways. Smile

Gona have to wait for that though. The cash mod's version is ahead of the game a little. A new version was released (and this is what I'm using) but the addons haven't been updated to work with it yet. So, we need some patience.

That would be really cool to have a little store to buy like different ships to put under your avatar. Add Cannons and People to it. Shows number of cannons to the side of the ship and also number of crew. Just an idea don't know if that is possible.

So how does this cash mod work then?

I've noticed that everyone has now got some gold and the [Donate] option, but what can we do with the gold (other than Donating it). How do we get more gold?

Sorry if these questions seem stupid, but I don't go to many forums and haven't seen this sort of thing before.

Edit: Just worked out that to get more gold, you need to make more posts. That should make PF happy! Razz

Well, you get gold for posting messages and if you like someone's post you can donate cash to them. That's all the mod does at the moment.

There are a couple of addons for the mod but they haven't been updated to work with the current version of the mod yet. So, waiting for them to be updated.

The most interesting of them is the shop mod. With that you can buy items that will be listed under your avatar image once you've bought them.
