List of challenges

I'm gearing up to set sail again, and am wondering if there's a good resource for interesting challenges. I've done several -- only use a fluyt, retire in 10 years, landlubber (don't use your ship the whole game), never attack a country or its ships, etc. -- but there have to be a ton I'm not thinking of. Thanks!

The only real challenge in this game...

If you want to make this game challenging, aside from merely playing on swashbuckler, never even speak to a governor.

This way, you don't have the advantage of getting gifts from a governor's daughter or using rank as a privilege in trading or ship repair.

You're still able to accomplish the main goals, such as defeating Montalban and rescuing your family members. (You won't be able to find the lost cities though b/c you won't get the map pieces w/out talking to governor's daughters.)

If you want to truly test your skills in this game, play as a swashbuckler and never talk to a governor.

Then, you're a true pirate.

Give yourself 20 years max. per map and see how far you can get with SE Asia 1640, Europe 1660, and Caribbean 1680
