It's 2016.
How much longer will this site be maintained for?
Edit: How long the admins pay for the costs of hosting the site?

It's not really "maintained" now. I think the word from the founders of the site is that the forum will not be updated, but as long as its antiquated software continues to work it will not be shut down. |

That's how I read their response too. They do not want to exert effort in maintaining this site but so long as it can keep running by itself they will leave us alone. They have been good enough to allow two our brothers admin access to delete bad/advertising posts and that has helped a LOT! |

I suppose the day is coming when the site will be gone just like many before it and many the same after it. Once all effort is stopped in maintaining updating, etc its just like the sun about to flicker out. Might burn awhile longer but its end is near. To bad cause I kinda like this site. Since I'm a pirate maybe I'll have to go down with the ship when that time comes. |

Maybe we should make contingency plans about where to meet up if we one day return from a voyage to find our favorite port submerged in the briny deep. |

Speaking of voyages, I leave Thursday for a 22 day sail on the Holland America Eurodam. We fly to Barcelona, then set sail for 7 days in the Western Mediterranean and then a 15 day sail from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale. I will check the board from time to time...... |

I was in this situation on another forums (the threat of closing (mostly due to cost)). A friend of mine there started this site for people like us:
http://www.exodusforums.net/index.php
Save the link, and if we ever do return from a voyage to find our island under the control of the enemy (or just simply not here anymore) then we know where to go. _________________ The Code is the Law. |

Good idea. Where would you pop up? I would assume under the Games section but would it be Strategy or Action/Adventure? |

I would say Action/Adventure. In the games industry, that seems synonymous with "miscellaneous". _________________ The Code is the Law. |

I checked again and there is a board set up for Sid Meier's Pirates there. It has not been used in over a year and only two or three people posted there, but it does exist. |

I'll add it to my bookmarks, but I hope we don't have to migrate. |

Aye, that would have been me (the Wanderer). I tried to drum up interest, but it is an old game and young users. If we had to move, though, that thread would come alive. ALIVE!!!
However, I hope it will not come to that. _________________ The Code is the Law. |
