Guys, I did not realize it but Clint Eastwood is now 90 1/2 years old and still making movies! The guy is beyond amazing! He has been in the business since 1954 and fleetp and I are old enough to remember seeing him on TV as Rowdy Yates on the show Rawhide! Go ahead and read about him on WikiPedia, it is a truly AMAZING read!

According to wikipedia

Quote:
Eastwood was also cast as Two-Face in the Batman television show,
but the series was canceled before filming began.

That would have been interesting to see,
the Man with no Name tossing a coin!

Hard to believe now that the Spaghetti Dollar westerns
were very much critically disliked in the US at first, as not
being proper Hollywood productions.

A while back I read Eli Wallach's biography and he
mentioned Clint outlined his Malpaso film production
company plans during filming of GTB&TU, location car trip
(as Clint didn't trust the Spanish Airlines then).
Then went and did exactly what he said he was gonna do.

Clint Eastwood's film debut was a minor role in 'Revenge of the Creature' (1955). While he had a few lines of dialogue, his part (the lab assistant) was uncredited. You can easily tell that it's him.

In 'Tarantula' I think it is more difficult to recognize Clint Eastwood than it is in "Revenge of the Creature" (exception: if you already know that Eastwood is the jet pilot)

Rio Diablo - John Wayne/Clint Eastwood movie

Ted Newsom

runtime 22:10

A "What if-- ?" A half-dozen major stars in an old-fashioned, big budget western in 1970: John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Raquel Welch, Randolph Scott, Sidney Poitier and Sean Connery-- with Lee Van Cleef as the villain. (with a cameo by good old John Agar.) Originally inspired by Ennio Morricone's score for THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY, as you'll see.

Not for commercial use; parody and academic use only. No copyright infringement intended.

Compilation of screenshots from various Movies & Captions

Apparently, Clint Eastwood offered John Wayne a role
in the movie Clint was to Direct - High Plains Drifter.
John Wayne turned it down as apparently didn't like Clint's
depictions of the West in his westerns.

That was as close as they ever came to acting together
in real life.

Further Info here:

Why JOHN WAYNE REFUSED TO WORK WITH CLINT EASTWOOD & denounced HIGH PLAINS DRIFTER as a western!

Mel Brooks also apparently tried to get John Wayne
for a role in Blazing Saddles.
Wayne again turned it down.
