In 1555, de Sores led an attack that partially burnt the Cuban city of Havana
to the ground, forcing the Spanish Crown to build fortifications

Nicknamed the “Exterminating Angel” ("L'Ange Exterminateur")
leader of a band of Huguenot pirates
Terrorized the Caribbean in the middle of the 16th century.
