Chrome Browser Memory Saver Tool

This is Chrome's description

Chrome frees up memory to make browsing smoother
Memory Saver automatically frees up memory from tabs you haven’t used in a while. This gives active tabs and other apps more computer resources and keeps Chrome speedy. You can manage Memory Saver and which sites it frees up memory from in settings.

If you want to manage Memory Saver, open Settings and click Performance.
Open your tabs and browse as usual.
Let Memory Saver do the rest.

Memory saver
When on, Chrome frees up memory from inactive tabs. This gives active tabs and other apps more computer resources and keeps Chrome fast. Your inactive tabs automatically become active again when you go back to them.

Speeds up Chrome by freeing RAM from Browser Tabs it considers 'inactive'
(not used in the last 15 mins)

Recommend that you check Chrome, to ensure that this has not been switched on after updating Chrome.
Some earlier Chrome Browser updates have had this enabled by default.

Reported problems with this enabled include:
Various Glitches or weirdness
Paused Youtube videos playback return to start when Unpaused
Not completed Online website forms timing out

Chrome may deem these as idle background tabs and snooze them
to save memory

Apparently you can tell the tool to ignore certain sites

To disable the memory tool completely

Top Right Chrome 3 dots button - Settings on menu - Performance tab -
Memory saver slider set to disable

Oh, sh*t. Sad

Firefox (my current browser) has this 'feature' turned on by default.

I try to avoid having more than one browser tab open at a time, but sometimes I have a second tab active to download a file while I'm reading the contents of another site.
