This replaces some in-game menu backgrounds to resemble those from the 1987 version of the game.
Download (please endorse at Nexus)
Optimized for 1152x864 aspect ratio. If you see the text overrunning or something let me know.
If anyone knows how where we can change the exe to adjust the font and where certain text is placed on the screen, let me know, we could go a lot further (for now we could change the wording on some screens but likely not worth changing the executable just for that)

I don’t know about the fonts but search Talk to the Pimp etc. and that be your text relocating it might be a little hard. |

Bah just go with the 1993 version, so much better. Could you collect all those favorite old tunes and have them work with SMP? |

Good question, replacing sound files sounds like its just asking for crashes but that could be a future project. Got any screenshots of the Gold!/1993 ones you'd like to see? |

My F11 won't take a screen shot, and photobucket anyway won't let me have a free account anymore. I've tried "print screen" but that doesnt work either |

Or even a website that has them? I found these off a few sites that had collected screenshots from the old game so I based it off them.
If you want to take your own, you might have to hold shift, control or "F keys" if your keyboard has that, when you press print screen. Then it's on the clipboard and you can paste it into MSpaint or something, and upload it
It's only $2.33 on Steam til Dec. 1 now, I could just get it and try to unpack the files, is that the "Sid Meier's Pirates! Gold Plus (Classic)" version? |

may include a small number of .PCX graphics files from the previous
Pirate Games, probably from Pirates Gold
PCX is an old now defunct DOS image file format
