Ralph Delahaye Paine - The Book of Buried Treasure (audio Book)
https://archive.org/details/bookofburiedtreasure_2103_librivox

Read in English by Tony Posante

Described by the author as: BEING A TRUE HISTORY OF THE GOLD, JEWELS, AND PLATE OF PIRATES, GALLEONS, ETC., WHICH ARE SOUGHT FOR TO THIS DAY. Ralph Delahaye Paine (August 28, 1871 – April 29, 1925) was an American journalist and author popular in the early 20th century. Paine's book tells of pirates, heroes, scoundrels, and treasure seekers creating, stealing, seeking, and sometimes finding great wealth. It also tells of treasures yet undiscovered (as of 1911, but perhaps to this day).

The Misfortunes of Alonso Ramirez (1690) Info
by Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora

(the only English translation edition (1962) is apparently still under copyright,
available retail)

https://digitalcommons.bowdoin.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?referer=&httpsredir=1&article=1002&context=dissidences

1690 book by Carlos de Sigüenza y Góngora, a Mexican writer retelling the story of Alonso Ramírez, a Puerto Rican sailor from his first sailing as a ship's boy in 1675, to his arrival at Yucatan, Mexico.

At one point thought to be fictional, José Francisco Buscaglia-Salgado and the historian Fabio López-Lázaro have demonstrated the existence of Ramírez and the accuracy of the account of experiences with pirates, including William Dampier and Duncan Mackintosh.

Among the most consequential findings of Buscaglia's research,
the shipwreck site and the remains of Ramírez's frigate in Punta Herradura, Yucatán, Mexico.

The only extensive Spanish eyewitness account of pirates during the period in world history (1650–1750) and Latin America's first novel.
Alonso Ramírez is the first known American to circumnavigate the world.

Described the incredible adventures of a poor Spanish American carpenter who was taken captive by British pirates near the Philippines and forced to work for them for two years. After circumnavigating the world, he was freed and managed to return to Mexico.
