When the fishing vessel known as the Cloud vanishes off the coast of Antigua, taking with it Capt. Robert Christophe and a crew of eight, Robert's brother, Mark Christophe (Jeff Richards), who left the cloistered life of the island years earlier, returns and is chastised by Grandmere (Gina Petrushka), the family matriarch, for deserting the family.
The Cloud disappeared on a clear, calm night, and since no remains of the vessel have been found, the insurance company has refused to settle the claim, ruling that foul play may be involved. Grandmere, furious because the family name has been besmirched, admonishes Mark to exonerate his dead brother's name.

The Lost Continent 1968
On their way to South America, the passengers and crew of an old freighter face many challenges. The captain has taken on illegal cargo a dangerous consignment of phosphorous that will explode if it comes into contact with water, something that worries the crew but less so for the passengers, who all seem to have good reasons to continue their trip. When the ship takes on water, some of the crew mutiny and eventually abandon ship. For those who stay aboard, they soon find themselves trapped in a huge bed of living seaweed and find a several centuries old Spanish galleon that has been trapped for all of that time, now manned by the descendants of the original crew. They will have to help them if they are to survive. |

In 1763, Captain Edward Reynolds is hunting pirates, or at least trying to do so. He does not consider himself a great commander, and neither does most of his crew. Only his first officer Jules believes in him. When they save a young woman named Isabella from drowning, she tells them that her husband's ship has been destroyed by the feared Captain Victor Stagnetti and his crew of cutthroat pirates.
Reynolds and his crew go hunting for Stagnetti, who tries to find a map that leads to a powerful secret on an island somewhere in the Caribbean Sea. Stagnetti finds the secret "staff" unlocked by Isabella's husband Manuel.
After the crew escapes the spawn of darkness summoned by Stagnetti, their ship engages Stagnetti's in battle, ending Stagnetti's reign as a pirate.
