My status says I'm 32 years old and in poor health. Sad I'm wondering,if there is anything I can do to get my health back?A while back the stranger in the tavern offered to sell me some kind of salve, but I didn't need it then.Would this help?Any information will be appreciated.

I have made notes on my Health playing on Swashbuckler and the dates are the same as in the table above.
It seems, that the aging/loose of health have the same formula on all difficulty levels.

Standard are 3 Years per health Level,
Medicine adds 1 Year per health Level and
Medic Items add 1 more Year per level (Both together. I don't know what the first item alone does - 0.5 Years?)

And there are 8 health Levels (With 6 names - poor and failing occuring twice each):
(Basic / With Medicine OR Items / With Both Medicine AND Items)

18 / 18 / 18 - Excelent
21 / 22 / 23 - Fine
24 / 26 / 28 - Good
27 / 30 / 33 - Fair
30 / 34 / 38 - Poor
33 / 38 / 43 - Poor
36 / 42 / 48 - Failing
39 / 46 / 53 - Failing (After reaching this age, You will be automaticaly retired when Dividing plunder)

I might be mistaken but I could swear that I had a guy way back in my first game be in Ill health. He was 48 and forced to retire... Maybe I'm wrong, I don't know as I seem to start more games then I finish... Mr. Green

I'm wondering if I really saw my pirate be in Ill health way back in my first game of pirates. Did anyone else ever have a pirate be in Ill health or was I just seeing things? Just wondering.........

I remember that I was forced to retire. I don't remember if it was because I was in ill health, though.

Yes, you are forced to retire when you are in ill health and divide up the plunder. I have no idea about the age though, I only managed that once.

I have not seen ill health, just failing. People may just be using different terminology than we're using Howie. I was confused on this myself at first when the term "ill" was used. I wonder if this differs in the different versions of the game.

I wonder if there was a difference between Pirates! and Pirates! Gold.

They might be using different words in the European edition.
The USA version uses the same terms as in Rafar's quote.
They are located in the file "Text.txt" located in Lang0.fpk within the Assets folder.

Gee, I wish I could unpack files.

*** link doesn't work.***

See the topic under customization called "How do I get started...."

I can't find a fpk pakcer/unpacker program to save my life.

There is a thread called "GUI FPK Packer" somewhere in the mods forum. Ask the guy who wrote it for help.
