I've taken to, and I like this with Treasure ships, holding my fire until I'm in grapeshot range. I approaching and duck shot, drive toward the hapless's stern trying to force him to go head-up in the wind so I can swing around his stern, crossing the T, and take-out some crew. When he's slightly fewer than I, we board.

During the hurricane which follows, politely called "swordfight", I lacerate the fool in five strokes. It may not be the best way. But, it suits me fine!

LASH! SLASH!! You can't board a sunken ship.
