ok, this is kinda pointless but i just wanted to see what you guys have gone through in the game. The highest wind speed was 30 knots in January... so yup, just another pointless topic, but my first pointless topic _________________ May you be forever touched by his Noodly Appendage!

Highest I've ever seen was 21 knots, and that was in a hurricane! How fast were your ships going in thirty not wind? _________________

it shot me out of there like a bullet, i was using a royal sloop, but it seems the strongest winds in the storms are at the center... _________________ May you be forever touched by his Noodly Appendage!

That would be fun to try during battle...
Today I saw a higher wind speed; 25 in a storm. That is the highest I've noticed. I might have to do hurricane research and sail into the center of storms in my pinnace. Which wouldn't work in real life. _________________

1.6 miles per hour = 1 Knot ::::: Is wrong.....
The real one is : 1 knot = 1,853 km or 1 knot = 1,158 miles
Seamiles and US miles is not equal:

I saw 29 knots while I was digging up treasure the other day...
The first time I saw rain on the land I thought my graphics card was getting twitchy! Of course, I was just a powder monkey back then... _________________ Sixty men all lost at sea,

I was in the Navy for 4 years. This is what a nautical mile is: 6080 feet or it is 1853.184 meters. This only applies for the US and UK.
The International nautical mile is: exactly 1852 meters.
The regular land mile in the US is 5280 feet...
Check this link out it tells you what I just said... http://www.free-definition.com/Nautical-mile.html
So obviously if you are going 1 Knot then you will have travelled 6080 feet. If you go 1 MPH then its 5280 feet. I'm sure you can do the math to figure out the difference between Knots vs. MPH!
enjoy... _________________
