I believe there are mods out there that can add a parrot to the game characters shoulder. I edited your post above coco123 because we do not allow profanity in the forums...

I believe Rupertlittlebear is the expert on all things parroty in SM Pirates. I'm sure he had a bird name Kikki which came from SMP.

I think there's no mod that has the parrot on the pirate lad's shoulder, mates. Rupert's mod replaces some stuff in the item list and gives you a chance to see the famous parrot animations that were somehow not in the game, but were on the game disk itself.

One wonders what they were originally meant for...

BTW: I just installed the mod myself... There's no point to having the shaman thingies around, so parrots will do just as well, if not better.

I like that parrot mod even though the birds don't sit on your shoulder. They indeed replace the shaman items. Used that mod since Rupert posted it many months ago so I didn't have to download it again. Nevertheless it would be helpful to add it to the mod section for people who don't have it yet.

I agree there. I think the original decision not to include the mod was made during a time when we still presumed that we'd have some great mods for the game (new ships, different maps, new towns and settlements, new missions and NPCs) as was half-promised by the pre-release material.

Since that did not happen, and all the mods generally offer graphical tweaks etc., Rupert's mod is certainly worthy of a place amongst them.

Well said Wolf. Now I know the real story. I was a wee bit confused. I wouldn't mind seeing and using this mod. It sounds real good. It would be nice to see it in the mod section.
