|
|
After starting another game and capturing spanish Military payroll with 15580 goldpieces.....
yes. 15580.
I was shocked when I saw that.
My previous record was 10130 and that was also early in the game.
For me it seems like the amount of soldiers seems very important for the amount of golds in mil payrolls.
The intresting thing is that the '15580 gold' mil payroll was heading for Santiago. which at the time had 1600 soldiers. also the highest amount I have seen.
whats your record for military payrolls or treasure gallions?
and what do you think effects the amount of gold in them?
I dont think it is a coincidence that I always spot the most waelthy ships early in my career. The towns are most waelthy then and also have many soldiers. |

Nice prize DJ. The largest payroll I turned into a payoff was around the 12k mark if I remember correctly and I nearly spit my soda onto my screen when I saw it. I know the size of the payroll is directly proportional to either its origen or destination, cant remember, pretty sure its the size and wealth of her destination. I think the one I snagged for 12k was 1620 or 1640 heading to Vera Cruz, I remember being in the Gulf area fighting that damned headwind. _________________ Loyal subject to the Ruler of the Raging Main

I've seen one of those just recently... man was that a dissapointing one...
As for the amount... The most logical thing would be, that the amount of gold depends on the number of solider at the destination port. Think about it: A payroll courier bound for a town with a 600 man garrison should have more than a courier sent to a town with 100 soliders... but that's just guesses... _________________ All to hell we must sail for the shores of sweet Barbados where the sugar cane grows taller than the god we once believed in.

that sounds very reasonable.
Especially when I have Santiagos 1600 in mind. |

Well... I hate fighthing those military ships with very little goal... Other than the fun of slashing off the captains...
I wonder what determine the gold level of those military ships... Is it based on the destination port size? Also, does spanish military payroll galleon worth more than others? _________________ Seeking new bride in place of gramma Emma. |

Nothing compared to the stunning 7 gp that I was stuck with a while ago.
My record is 8k something. |

Ahoy, mate!
That is one hell of the plunder you lifted. The largest of my own was when I atacked fast galleon with 24 guns with my mail runner "Black Alexandra" and I booted 7500 dubloons.
So far so good!

Bugger. I registered an account just to say "Wow, I just plundered 12k from a payroll ship!", only to discover that someone got 15k. Journeyman - 1600 - Navigation if it makes any difference.
Curiously, the payroll ship was headed to St. Augustine, which I had just captured for France. |

Love taking those payroll ships,Arrrr! ARRRRRR!
Often times more gold aboard these than the Spanish treasure fleet ships!
And taking the British,French and Dutch Treasure ships is fun too.
Take the loot from these ships to the right port and ye can make a nice
profit. So long as you are in otherwise good standing and still attack
that nations enemies ships, the governors don't get too mad about it.
I've taken these ships and Still got promoted by that nations guvner. |

You know whats sad? I don't actually pay attention to how much gold I'm pulling. I hit them, take the money, take the cargo, either keep or burn the ship and I'm off. Little free time = hurried play style. _________________ Sincerly,
