well i read through the forum a bit to see if anyone has come across this problem... but couldn't find any instance of it
this is my last lost city map....
so is there a reason why my "X" is missing.... btw I found treasure.... a different lost city.... and Marquis's hideout all is this area...

Are you using the latest patch? I think it should have fixed the no big "X" problem...
But, if you get one of those maps, then there is no save but to try to find a save from before you received the first map piece or just to give up the search and go on with other stuff... _________________ It is much better to be armed with a sword that has two edges than with an estoc [...], which is nothing more than a stick with a point. Yes , I came across it on the week end
Really nasty map Also an ancient city worth 50, 000 gold.
But, I don't know if I have the latest patch or not.
How does one know about the patch ? _________________ "The will to want , is the will to win!" |

You know what I've been playing Pirates for a long time now. I've never downloaded the patch or anything and I have never had any issues with an X that doesn't show up. Infact looking at the "improvements" I found really no reason what so ever to get the patch. Other then possibly slightly more difficult fencing. _________________ Sincerly,

Don't misunderstand me "kvollmer"
I don't want the patch. I was just wondering why I have a map with no X
The more we add to our game , the more chance we have of snitches.
I am glad you have always had a X in your maps. The problem is, I danced with the beauties and they give me the same map, still with no X My first game I had no problem. This is my 4th game so , who am I to judge _________________ "The will to want , is the will to win!" |

I saw a post on this problem a little while ago. One guy said its a problem that happens if you don't have the latest patch. Also said the only way to fix it unfortunately is to get the patch and start a new game. You can continue to play but you'll never find the Mayan ruins. _________________ "The time has come," the Walrus said,

Yeah I know you whern't arguing the qualities of the patch. I just find it weird that I've played probably at least 15 different games all the way through and I've never encountered any of the problems that you need the patch to fix. Other people have I know, I just think its kind of weird. _________________ Sincerly,

Yesterday , I landed SE of Puerto Principe, to get my lost sister and found myself and my crew , completely surrounded by blue water.
I returned to the ship, sailed off and back, then it was ok.
I still do not know whether to download the patch or not . _________________ "The will to want , is the will to win!" |

I guess the only problem I ever encountered was when my uncle was trapped near an inland lake. The way it was positioned in order to get to it and trip it you had to walk to it JUST right. I finally got it but I probably wasted about a month (in the game) trying to figure out how I could trip the scene and get the points. _________________ Sincerly,

It's just possible that the red X is where that "shrub" icon (southwest of the arch rock and northwest of the Inca temple) is located. I've had that symbol appear (pre-patch) on a treasure map several times, usually replacing a regular landmark. It seemed to happen when I had two different maps set in the same general area, and getting a new piece for one changed a landmark on the other. _________________ I only do what the voices in my head tell me to do. |
