Well I finally have the full map to where the Marquis's hideout is. I can't seem to find it though. It says search southeast of Villa Hermosa and there is a landmark. I was sailing around in that area and there isn't much east of Villa Hermosa, but there isn't the landmark that it shows on the map. I can't find his hideout at all. I tried just landing at a spot and going from there (actually when I tried just guessing, I found one of the landmarks on the map, but I traveled for 10 days and didn't see any others). Please help. Oops or blush

Post your map so we can give more accurate advice.

Usually those middle-of-nowhere maps SE ofVilla Hermosa has an inland-lake in it, and that's usually quite close to the SW corner of the Bay of Honduras. (opposite side of the land mass).

How to make screenshot:
In game, open the map. Press PrintScreen button, and press Ctrl-Esc (or Windows button). That will open your Windows menu. Open Paint from there, and paste. Save the image as JPG. Finally upload your image to ImageShack (http://imageshack.us/) and post the link here.

I'll go look for an inlet or lake first. If I don't prevail I'll come back with a screenshot.

Well I don't seem to have paint on this computer so I can't post a screenshot. And do you really think that Southeast means it could be all the way on the other side of that land mass? I'll just keep looking and post when everything has failed. Razz

Landmarks are nothing without the important X that marks the spot. Lost
I had to start a new game because there was no X for my lost city. Innocent
Good luck ! Wink

There is an x alright, just can't find the landmark. There doesn't look like any inland lakes or something like that near Villa Hermosa, just rivers. I"m going to sail to the other side of the land mass and see if I can find something there.

I found it! It happened to be all the way on the other side of the land mass and the landmark was on an inland lake. Hideout took a very long time to find, I think my compass points the wrong ways on east and west because I had to go east to find the hideout when the map tells me to go west Razz Thanks for all the help. Arr!

The compass works correctly. Compass doesn't point to the direction you are going to - it always points north. So, when you are walking towards east, a compass points to your left (which some people mistake as west).

Ha, you're right wolfwood. That was a stupid mistake on my part Oops And I know paint comes with microsoft but I am not seeing it under accessories or under search. Might be because the name I"m logged into isn't the main one of the computer or something like that.

Yes, I ran into this sort of problem my first adventure in the Spanish Main. Near as I can tell, if something's in Mexico, it can be ANYWHERE the heck in Mexico. Oh man, and when the map doesnt even show the coast, forget it.
One thing I do as a last resort is to head directly SE or whatever from the city mentioned. It's a long shot, but it has helped me find a number of rather VERY LOST cities. Your mileage may vary.
