|
|
Most of the Military Payrolls have about 2000-5000 gold in my experience.
But i just encountered a Spanish Ocean Barque escorted by a Sloop of War, containing a total of 10750 gold
This was in a 1680 game, and i didn't do anything to make the Spaniards wealthy, i just played my normal game.
What's your biggest loot from a Military Payroll? I'm sure some of you have encountered bigger payrolls... |

I had a similar experience to yours. I had JUST STARTED my game, in fact, it was my first encounter. Unescorted Spanish Barque just outside of Santiago with about 11K. Could have been the exact number as yours even. _________________ Yarrrrghhh! Ha-Harrrgh! |

This has been discussed before, but I think payroll grows with the size of the garrison it it going to. |

Yeah, but not for some years?
(You know, I haven't been around lately )
I think you're right, I'll try to make all caribbean one nation some day, and then boost 'em a lot.. should give some nice payoffs (20k should be possible i think)

I can't guarantee this but I recall taking one with over 16,000 once. Could be mistaken but I doubt it. I don't recall anything unusual about the game.

When I staged a hostile takeover of all Spanish ports in the game, the occassional Spanish privateers I encountered had a lot of gold...from one, I had a haul of 31,000 gold pieces!
Some craftier Captains around here refrain from capturing Henry Morgan and his ilk for a few decades. These Men of the Sea can have many tens of thousands of gold pieces. _________________ Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves;

I just staged one myself, but didn't capture any vessel carrying more than a couple of thousand gold.

Nay, I haven't done anything that you, or anyone else, is unable to do. It's all about opportunity, and creating the conditions to get the buckets o' gold...
Some players here have collected over 100,000 from Named Pirates. That is a matter of turning down a good chance now (getting fame points and knocking off a competitor) for a better one later in the game (getting fame points, knocking off a competitor, and also collecting thirty game years of the defeated rascal's profits)! _________________ Rule, Britannia!
