Arghhhhhh I have stolen some neat Custom Sails from people about these parts and I be havin a bunch of them miself below deck.
Arrrrgh, problem is evertime I give a pattern to mi sailmaker. He doesna't put in on.
BUT, When I be in port trading with the local merchant... Then I be seein it.
What is a pirate to do? 
Tranlation
Downloaded a Few Custom Sails, Uppacked put in the custom etc... Went to use them.... NUTTIN. When out to Sea... But when I trade it shows.
AND No matter what Flag I chose I am flying a Jolly Roger!!!!!

Do you perhaps not have your graphics set high enough? Do you see custom emblems on other countries' sails while at sea? |

Have you lowered your graphics settings? It may be that that is one of the details that the game removes when you aren't using the high settings.
I don't know if the game is that smart, but it could actually drop the emblems because their file size is very large and the video settings aren't the best possible... |

Now that is interesting......
Before I try that I will try a packaged sail....
I am trying to use the Red Dragon Sail the last two days...
When I pull into port... And Trade, it does look sweet.
Sad thing is I see other sails (in game the AI picked)
I want my custom sail WAAAAAH  |

Meaning that you may have set the graphic details on a low setting and that's why the emblem is not showing in-game. I'm not sure if this would happen with the low settings, but it sounds plausible... |

My PC Crashed while I was typing a reply.
All my options are tweaked to the max.........
So I thought I had replied to my settings earlier....
But I will double check tonight while sailing the Carib....
My friggin wife is AAAAALLLLLL the way west.... to see her once every 6 months is tough and then the trip back...
Good, a ball and chain already.

This might be a stupid suggestion, but are you sure you are looking at the correct side of the sail? They a blank on the opposite side and the emblem only shows on the other one...
(if this was a stupid suggestion, let me hide before you fire your cannons... ) |

How big is the file size of the image that you have set up as the sail emblem? I don't know if there's a cap on the size that it can be to be shown when you sail around, but it is one possibility...
Try a smaller image (smaller file size, not smaller pixel size) and see if the problem persists... |
