My wife says only an ex farmer or ex crop insurance guy ( I am both ) would care about this. I have often wondered when I retired from Pirating if I'd own all of Curacao. This will help you translate your real estate holdings into something more tangible. When you finish your game, feel free to boast about your real estate holdings in terms of islands, here in this thread.

Cuba 26,145,280 acres

Hispaniola 18,898,560 acres

Jamaica 2,764,800 acres

Puerto Rico 2,198,400 acres

Trinidad 1,192,960 acres

Grand Bahama 339,200 acres

Martinique 279,040 acres

Isla Margarita 252,160 acres

Guadeloupe 209,280 acres

Eleuthera 128,000 acres

Curacao 109,440 acres

Barbados 106,880 acres

Antigua 69,120 acres

New Providence (Nassau) 51,200 acres

Tortuga 44,160 acres

St Kitts 41,600 acres

Montserrat 24,900 acres

Nevis 23,040 acres

St Martin 21,504 acres

St Eustatius 5,184 acres

Providencia (Santa Catalina ) 4,201 acres

Key West 3,373 acres

Trinidad was a particular plum, since it was the key spice island.

Being owner and Governor of a small, rich country with no borders and a powerful navy.... would be great.

Half of Puerto Rico isn't exactly a bad gig, either.

Congratulations to captain Ahab Vandervecken and his merry men for reaching port!

Might yet bring old Ahab out of retirement - as Captain Ahab has to go hunt his whale.

I'm pretty certain I've earned much more than the entire acreage of Barbados many times when I've retired on that island... I wonder if they expand the island for my needs... Confused

It is all linked to global warming - and if the ocean levels are falling - or rising ...

Ah, I think you have missed something.

In the savegame file, acreage earned is not stored as a single number, as though land in Barbados was the same as land in Mexico. Rather, you own land at each particular city where it was awarded.

So if you want to own all of Curacao, you need to visit the governor there a lot.

(For those using .pst files, land in Curacao is CityInfo_7_0_8)

Yeah, I know it's awarded differently, but I had no idea the game tracked it separately. Thanks! So, in theory I could know the acreage per island without a notebook or spreadsheet.

Still, it's useful for comparison. Or maybe your broker consolidated your holdings for you.

Thank you Sparticus.

Well, at this point I'm married with one pirate left to find, the villains are vanquished and my family recovered. I wanted them there for the wedding.
Two ancient cities left to find.

My acreage is similar to Santa Catalina plus St. Eustatious.

I'm losing interest, unless I start a martial land campaign, probably won't earn a lot more land.

Is this for real? Did you really play one game for 1400 years? Did you trick out your save game file or did you really play the same game for that long? Enquiring minds want to know!!!!!

sparticus had a game where he didn't share out the wealth.

As long as you don't do that after the end of your era you may continue to play the same game.

At least that's how I understand it.
