Normally, I don't really like lists that have 1001 ways to do this.. and 100 ways to do that.. but I thought that since we're all waiting for the release of Pirates!, people could think of some ideas of other things to do while we wait.

I'll start off then..

1. Spend time posting on these forums (obvious isn't it)

2. If you were lucky enough, spend time playing the beta version.

3. Spend some time with your family now - because after you get Pirates!, you might not see them for a month or two. Wink

Spend time poking voodoo dolls of the people who did get betas with pins (a joke, a joke!)
Write one of the many essays I have to write
Perhaps continue my story

Is it just me, or has this forum been dead since the Beta started?

I guess the beta testers are a bit timid about writing about the game now, fearing that they might slip something that they shouldn't have. At the same time, they have their own secret forums to attend.

And, meanwhile, us poor sods without beta testing duties are just sitting here knowing that there are people there who know answers to our questions, but who cannot give them to us (ok, they have answerede the most burning questions). At the same time, we hate to hear from them, since that would only remind us that there are those who are so much luckier than we are...

I guess a lot of the following month and a half will go by as if we were children waiting for Christmas Eve... (...silent, brooding and testy as if we were little kids again...)

...I just hope that the LE package will contain some nice surprise (that we do not yet know about) for us...

Why joke about it? They may as well get some pain from the voodoo dolls, coz their getting all the pleasure of playing the game already.

The forums certainly have quietened down somewhat since the Beta started, I would suggest mainly for the reasons Wolfwood stated. It doesn't help that Falconer has become one of the testers. I guess its up to us to keep it going in the meantime.

BTW, the main reason I thought about starting this thread was because it had become a bit quiet in here.

Civ is a great time passer, especially if you spend most of the time modding it... Unfortunately, I've again in the phase that I find myself having played the game too much and it's time to take a break (I often play in active spurts of a couple of months followed by a break of at least an equal length of time...). Unluckily enough, now the break takes place just when this eager awaiting for Pirates! is happening...

Unfortunately, reading your review only makes time pass slower while we wait for the release as it appears the game will be fantastic. Damn you Falconer. Razz

10?. Dress up as a pirate (with puffy shirt, eye patch, bandana) and walk around the city asking people if they've seen your parrot. Wink

11. Make up excuses as to why you need to buy Pirates!.

12. Bug Falconer (and other Beta testers) on various aspects about the game.

Hey PF, i'd noticed you had been a little quiet on these boards lately. I thought you might have gone on holiday or something and not told us. Razz

LMAO!!! Wolf - OMG, I'm the same way! So's my hubby, thankfully - though, actually, I *GASP* prefer Pharoah to Civ....Don't flame me!!!! Very Happy

But yeah, when I DID play Civ, we had to share it - hehehe.....

I guess I'll have to tell him to go take a hike on switching computers until AFTER I'm sick of playing Pirates! - oh wait, that would NEVER happen! hehehe....puters MINE!!!

So here's a good one - plot how to upgrade the ol' puter so that Pirates! looks FABULOUS and runs perfectly! LOL!!!
