Try to think like a Pirate.
What self respecting pirate crew would allow tha captain to remain intact after spending that kind of money on anything?
Remember, they look upon it as their money.
Divide the Plunder, skip town and keep the ship? I don't think so. |

Byuing ships takes away one of the biggest thrills of the game (if not THE biggest thrill): capturing enemy ships! So I'd definitely strike that out as an option. As for keeping the ships when dividing the plunder, lucrative though it may sound, it is completely unfair to your crew. Remember, it's called dividing the PLUNDER, and the ships are part of the plunder, correct?

Actually no, The captain ALWAYS kept any ships that were captured. Only gold/goods were divided. |
