Ok rereading through some articles I skimmed through before I have read something that I am going to miss in this new release of Pirates!. No more sea-based fort attacks... I actually loved this option when I didn't have much of a crew but knew i could make some quick cash and possibly great fame if I took out a town like Santiago. So I would sea-battle it until it was down to nothing and then move in ...sword fight and then take the plunder...sometimes even the town... I know not everyone did this and obviously some people found this annoying as in the quote above, but please leave me the Sea fort battles |

I read that too and I thought it was weird...
How is it annoying? |

I could never get really good wind speed and because of this my boat usually crept really slowly into the fort, which usually resulted in too much damage and loss of crew. I can see why it was annoying, but they could have improved on it instead of leaving it out all together.
Also, I always seemed to notice that if you attacked by sea, more of the town's riches were hidden away, than if you rushed the fort by land. _________________ "Oh, no, my name is Blood--Captain Peter Blood. This ship is mine by right of conquest" |

You were taking the wrong ship into battle matey there was a couple of ships that could get wind from more than one side to speed the ship up.. plus you didn't move in until you took it down. A long battle none the less but worth its wait in gold if you didn't have the crew to take the town when the treasure fleet was in or the silver train |

Yep, they were actually quite cool if you had the right ship. Not sure why this was found to be an annoying part of the game and needed to be taken out. |

I actually liked the sea-fort battles too. Liked the overland battles more, but still enjoyed the sea-fort battles. I fondly remember that to attack San Catalina (the small island between Gran Granada and Panama), you needed to sail into the fort) Though at times it was difficult to get into the fort without getting hit - probably chose the wrong ship sometimes.
And like PF mentioned, it was a good way to get the towns defenses down to a manageable size.
Never really found it annoying. _________________ Shiver me timbers!!!
