|
|
Well you guys, I'm going to China this Wednesday (9.3) for a few months, and I was wondering what you'd do without me and my Ship of the Line tips (Heh right) so I decided to sit down and write a Ship of the Line FAQ for everyone who has an interest in the subject:
http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/file/sm_pirates_sotl.txt
(EDIT:
The link doesn't work, but you can visit www.gamefaqs.com to find it.
You'll also find Sashanan's Complete Game FAQ there)
Hope it becomes useful at some point or another.
Maybe I'll write a War Canoe FAQ some other time (while sitting in the Himmalayas or something).
Peace. _________________ Blondebeard: "Madre de Dios! Es el Pollo Diablo!!"

Yeah, the link doesn´t work, it send this message:
"You're seeing this error message because it appears that you're linking from an external site directly to one of the text files stored at GameFAQs. GameFAQs is not a free public file server. Bandwidth costs money, and when sites link directly to files stored on the site, it becomes both a financial and resource drain. We've tried asking, but some sites simply don't care, so now we've implemented a technical solution."
What the hell is the "technical solution"? Trying to do what? Steal my money for a simple FAQ? I´m the pirate, not them!
I need to load my Carronade!ARGH! |

First of all, yes, true, the link doesn't work, you can still access the FAQ through www.gamefaqs.com (it's free you know).
Second, I'm only leaving this wednesday, it would take a few months until I actually COME BACK. _________________ Blondebeard: "Madre de Dios! Es el Pollo Diablo!!"

BTW Howie if you ever want to see a SOL you'd better start playing a Capture the SOL game, before you grow tired of the game (Can that really happen?) _________________ Blondebeard: "Madre de Dios! Es el Pollo Diablo!!"

headrock, the funny thing is that the link still doesn't work because the comma after the link is part of the URL, hehehe!
Please fix it, buddy!
Where were you if you weren't in China? Surely not here in the Cutlass Isle! We all thought you are there in China! _________________ I don't have a drinking problem, 'cept when I can't get a drink. Tom Waits |

Fixed the link (If it doesn't work now, it's never going to). Besides, can't you just type the link into your URL bar and click go? Have we become so lazy?
Yes, I've been here every day, but I've had lots to do and I tend to doze off "early" nowadays (~2 AM) so I don't have time to read everything. I tend to answer mostly strategy/hints posts now, and much less on the non-pirates stuff. Let's just say I'm making my disappearance gradual. Sadly, by the time I get back, "Pirates! 2004" will be old news. Maybe not. _________________ Blondebeard: "Madre de Dios! Es el Pollo Diablo!!"

Thats good advice headrock I have to at least catch one SOTL before I become tired of the game. As it is now I spend more time on here then I do playing the game. If we don't see you between now and the time you leave. Have a safe and fun trip to China... _________________

I've "grown tired" of the game several times, but I always seem to drift back to it. I remember that the same thing happened with the original. _________________ Prince John: Save me, save me! Hurt them, hurt them!

I'll probably come around to see what the patch had to offer (though I hope that won't "pull me back home" to play with the new stuff ) so maybe I'll post a "hi". Though I doubt I'll see many internet places out there (that is, outside the big cities, which I'll probably carefully avoid). So no worries.
In the meanwhile read the FAQ, it's my legacy. After all, I've spent about 50% of my Pirates Playing time on the whole SOL shebang. _________________ Blondebeard: "Madre de Dios! Es el Pollo Diablo!!"

Gamefaqs.com sucks. It's too hard to find anything there.
I guess I'll never get a SOTL _________________ "To Wives and Sweethearts! May they never meet."

go to Gamefaqs, type "sid meier's pirates" into the search window at the top right. The list will show several games. Find the correct PC version, and click the "FAQ" link right next to its name. Not too difficult.
If you've got a better idea of where I should publish it, just say so. I'll copy it there no prob. _________________ Blondebeard: "Madre de Dios! Es el Pollo Diablo!!"

Urn it into a .txt file and upload it into the mods database under scenarios.
