The point is if it's well done, a lot of people will buy it just like the war of the worlds story back then. Don't underestimate the power of the media, that was the whole point of the experiment in the first place.

I think the power of the media is quite evident already. Most people have an opinion on the things going on in this world, and where do we get our information from ?? The media! Thus basically, we depend on the media doing a proper coverage of all sides of any particular story, something we can't always rely on.... even in the western world, sometimes the media smell a bit like a propaganda organ. Anyway, that's just my opinion, and I shall refrain on elaborating further on it
