I was savin' up for a governor's daughter, but someone beat me TO HER! SO...<straightens collar> I picked up a tavern wench. She can cook. I just can't get her to do it.

I figure he means she won't cook.
What difference does it make anyway.. Esie's going to be my wife soon and she won't have to cook, mainly because we'll be eating at the governor's mansion every night!
Besides that only brothers in law, Captain's and First Mate's will be invited for dinner "at the mansion"...
