Homonym trouble; he presumably meant that he defied the allegations and those who made them, but didn't realize he was proniuncing a word with another meaning altogether.
One of my favorites:

CGM3, where does the Orwell quote come from? It is interesting; not exactly what I would have expected from him. |

I don't mind this quote from Martin Luther King Jr...
"The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy." _________________ Shiver me timbers!!!

I have many favourites, here is one I pulled off the top of my head:
"French Soldier: I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries."
I always liked it because it would make a great taunt in SMP, with a few changes of course _________________

I've got a couple of favorite quotes ...
Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we will pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and success of freedom."
~ John F. Kennedy ~ 1961
We confide in our strength without boasting of it, we respect that of others without fearing it.
~ Thomas Jefferson ~ 1793
