Not sure why, but I just me the Governor's Plain Daughter, and she asked me if I would escort her to the Ball.
What she didn't tell me was that it was the 1st Annual Dress Alike Ball.
If it weren't for me and the Plain Daughter, everyone in the place would have looked alike, and we would have all lost our partner's in a Flourish.

I'm not really sure how it happened, but when it did, I knew I had to share it will me fellow pirates. I often see 2 or 3 couples dressed alike, but this was the only time I've noticed that everyone shopped at the same Dressmaker for the evening's Ball.

Okay, it has happened once again.
This time, however, she is an attractive Dutch Lass.
I know that this isn't really a thing that a Bold Privateer would be concerned with, but in life (when ashore) every time I've been with a woman that sees another in the same outfit, she can't get out of there quickly enough. Even at home, she'll go and chage her clothes immediately.
I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn, and a king.
I've been up and down and over and out, and I know but one thing.

When I looked at the first posting and its picture, I was going to say, "The Governor ordered his people to come all dressed the same way, so his plain daughter would stand out from the crowd".
But then I saw the pic of the attractive lass in the same situation, and now can only imagine that it's a new fashion trend amongst the gentry.
See? It aint so bad, once you get used to it....... _________________ 'Vast heaving! Belay there, I say! |

Isn't that an attractive English daughter, Asclepius? Maybe patriotic members of the Dutch House of Orange showed up at the wrong party, or she invited you to the wrong one? Anyhow, and as you point out, they are all look-alikes, aren't they?
Maybe the ship carrying the new clothes sunk on its way from Europe, so the rich folks have to make do for a while with what they've got...
But ye can all tell that men wrote this game. We generally have three pairs of shoes and wear the same kind of clothes every day, so we don't care as much. Womenfolk would have given these inhabitants of the electronic world a few changes of garb, methinks!
By the way, I regularly use K-Bob's mods for the two beautiful English daughters. So maybe I do notice...because my character's going to marry one of the two of them!
Of course, he doesn't really say anything, even when he notices...
Women often say that men can only see in sixteen colors, like Windows default colors. It's not true. We see in millions of colors, we only care about sixteen of them, and classify the others accordingly!
Eggplant and Pumpkin are vegetables, for example. Purple and Orange are colors!

Sir Dave, you are correct in your assertion, this is an English Lass. Not sure how I made that error, but thanks for bringing me back in line. The Dutch Ballroom floors look nothing like that. I use Mods for all the daughters, so trying to figure out where they come from, by looking, is not all that easy. I think I went astray by following the colors, not the Daughter.
I keep the Rum bottle close to the helm when I pirate, so even though I remember to take the shot (and the screenshot too), I don't always make a good enough mental note to portray it correctly.

No problem, matey. Just remember that the ball room design and dance floor shows the nation. That particular one is English. I know, my character scuffs his boots on many an English floor...

Hmm...that particular thought has stirred me philosophical muse. What think ye of these ideas?
Love is following the Daughter, not the colors.
Patriotism is following the Colors, not the daughter!

Arrrrgh, I see your point and agree whole heartedly.

It seems to have become a fad as I noticed in myne journeys as well, yesterday at the ball everyone except the governor's daughter and me wore identical orange gowns and suits. |
