I am using windows 7 and I have not set the trainer to use anything on compatibity as did not think would need to as it worked a while ago so any suggestions to getting it to work are welcome suggestions for compatibility of trainer or SMP |

Both the trainer and SMP came before Windows 7 so if it's not working I can't see why it would hurt to try a compatilbilty check. Most that could happen is your computer will melt into a large pile of goo that's very hard to clean up. |

I noted you said "it worked a while ago"
I've had that happen to me. When it does, I uninstall Pirates and re-install the game. I'm not sure why, but the trainer works after I do that.
If I remember correctly, you can uninstall the game but still keep your saved games. |

got it (the trainer) working (on the Steam version of Pirates); had to change the game type from 1.20 to the Bigpond and TryMedia one and it works |

I use version 3.20 of the trainer and I’m quite happy with the available options.
However one thing bothers me:
I have the original PC CD version of SMP, updated to version 1.0.2.0 (30927), that uses the language Windows is set at as the language of the game. So SMP uses german.
When I use "Make Rich" (for nearest town) from the editor that does make the town rich - but it also changes the towns description from german to english.
e.g. in german "Santa Marta Bescheidener spanischer Hafen" becomes
"Santa Marta Spanish Town". |

The person who made the trainer sometimes makes an appearance at the Steam Community forums. He has a thread for the trainer there, and you might be able to contact him. Here's the link.

Does anybody remember how to change the destination setting for the transporter feature of the trainer? |

What documentation there is probably in this thread earlier posts.
No sure if this was carried on to later versions of the Trainer
Sid Meier's Super Trainer by Chronowerx 0.64
* Teleportation **
> This is fully functioning now Ctrl-/ will teleport you to Panama and Ctrl- will bring you to
Puerto Bello. Ctrl-. will bring you to Vera Cruz and Ctrl-, will bring you to Trinidad
PHTrainer v3.20 Documentation only has this
Teleport Tab:
* 12 Hotkeys to set and go to anywhere instantly (some have default locations but you can overwrite/reset them).
* Go to any of the Top Ten pirates. Note if they are in a town it might do something funny so just teleport again.
* Go to Baron Raymando or Marquis Montalban.
* Go to Selected Special City (Note some cities might cause you to teleport elsewhere on exit)
Quicky skimmed thorugh these forums

nothing for the trainer, other than where can you
download the Trainer requests
looking at the PHTrainer v3.20 files
hotkeys.ini
had predefined Teleport keys
Con't see an obvious place in the Trainer 3.2 Transport Tab
to select and set a new default specific destination.
No drop down list of destinations to chose from
Use current or reset to default destinations options
12 places
Goto ALT-1 to ALT-9 and ALT-0
Set CTRL-1 to CTRL-9 and CTRL-0
How to set current default destinations initially appears a mystery.
EDIT:
looking at the Trainer separate from the Game install folder
as existing savegames created not using The trainer. |

Phalyzr made the trainer. Regarding the occasional crash saving your game frequently and clearing your computer's cache about once a week reduces that. I have experienced occasional crashes on SMP when not using the trainer. |
