This used to be a doddle in the old 8 & 16-bit versions Twisted Evil of the game, combined hold space of your fleet was kept in a couple of bytes in the manageable saved game file.

Been looking to do the same with the 2004 version, with no luck. The saved game is often too massive to give any clues, nothing obvious in assets, so I'm guessing its hard-coded in the executable somewhere? Any ideas where to look?

Can't be changed. The closest you can come is to use Phalzyr's trainer to load any amount of goods you want in your ship. You can, for example, put 100 tons of food, luxuries, spices etc... aboard your war canoe, even crew can be added over the maximum allowable.

Hmm, pre-defined values have a set location, its just a matter of finding 'em. Done a bit of trial & error and found the ships cargo hold values are kept in the back end of the executable (V1.0.2, 3325952k), at regularly-spaced intervals:

I only looked for cargo values, but I'm betting that alot of the other values for the ships are also here. Surprised that no-one else has done this?

Curious side effect: give a ship type a large cargo bay and capture one, you will get a proportionally large haul in food/goods/sugar etc. as each item seems to be based on a percentage of available space...

HexEdit V2 Free by ExpertComSoft, a bit of an old one but it still does the job.

This definitely opens up new modding possibilities. I wonder what else is tied to the .exe. If you may be able to change the text during the scenes. Shocked

Sea Dogs I could change just about anything you wanted to change including making a sloop hold as much as a trade Galleon or a trade Galleon as fast as a sloop. Put 24 pound cannons on a sloop you name it I could do it.
