That one is amazing! Sure surprised me. So, do they drink whiskey and watch their Bollywood movies?

They might. Anyway if you decide to go there someday feel free to ask them Where's the Whisky but not Where's the beef. Smile

Well, it was simply guesswork. Wherever the Scotch and Irish went, they took whiskey with them. I don't know what they drink in India or if they much do, but it stands to reason that with over a billion people, they could outdrink the other former British colonies.

Maybe I had an original idea today.

What is the largest sports stadium in the world, by seating capacity?

First person to name one of the top 3 wins.

Indeed! It's #2. Your turn, Pirate

Here are the top 4, 3 of which are in the Big Ten. I kind of suspect you could seat considerably more of those starving North Koreans in The Big House.
I was a season ticket holder in Beaver Stadium for 25 years.

Rungrado 1st of May Stadium
114,000[1]
Pyongyang
North Korea
Korea DPR national football team*
Association football, athletics, mass games

Michigan Stadium
107,601[2]
Ann Arbor, Michigan
United States
Michigan Wolverines football
American football

Beaver Stadium
106,572[3]
State College, Pennsylvania
United States
Penn State Nittany Lions football
American football

Ohio Stadium
104,944[4]
Columbus, Ohio
United States
Ohio State Buckeyes football
American football

The University of Tennessee and the Rose Bowl are both over 100,000. I recall that in Brazil they used to have a stadium of about 300,000.

The Indy 500 seats over 400,000 including the infield. The Tour de France has days they have 1 million and possibly 2 million fans alongside the road. They are free, not paying customers.

Sounds like a good mod. The Big Ten Carribean. Flags, sails, cheerleaders, etc. anyway I'm more or less a college football nut so that's why I knew the Big House. Sounds like North Korea wasting government money on something like that instead of improving the lives of its citizens. Tennessee does have a big stadium Salty Dog. I'm proud of ya and in fact I'm giving you the honor to ask the next question. My brains taking a break if there is really is one up there.

Didn't they do away with that Brazilian stadium because of people getting trampled there?

Yes, race courses for both cars and horses draw larger crowds than stadiums, but many of them include standing room, or bring your own seat, or temporary seating, and by nature, they are large areas with multiple buildings. The Indianapolis speedway is in a class by itself as a sports facility. Only the Nazi Rally center once under construction in Nuremberg was designed for similar crowds, but WWII put an end to it.

Also, attendance records are normally set when they do something that reconfigures the seating to hold a basketball game or a boxing match in a stadium.

So I decided to go with stadium seating because it was quantifiable, and they are found in cities in most countries.

What I find interesting is that there seems to be a correlation with larger facilities and less frequent events. Supply and demand, I guess.

Here is a fun one and different. In order to win this one you must answer two out of the three questions correctly. I will respond by saying how many you got right but not telling you which ones you got right. No searching for 24 hours, then go ahead and search. Here are the questions:

What is a citizen of Quebec called (other than Canadian)?

What is a citizen of Glasgow, Scotland called (other than a Scot)?

And this one is HARD - Next to the city of Glasgow is a town called Paisley. What are citizens from Paisley called (besides Scots)?

Good luck!

I stayed in Glasgow once.

I would call them soccer fanatics. Maybe I can remember the term they use.
