Absolutely right, The Beatles! I remember it so well! We heard about them in December 1963, just after the JFK Assasination, there was an article on them in Life Magazine. We bought their album "Meet the Beatles" and listened to it. Then, in Feb 1964, they landed in New York and all Hell broke loose! The girls went crazy and they were all over the press. They went on the Ed Sullivan Show and were instant stars. They were mobbed everywhere they went and were all over the airways.
Constant articles on TV and in the newspapers. By late March, half the songs on the radio were theirs. In late March/early April - 5 of the top 10 songs were theirs and several others were in the top 40. People were buying FAKE albums! You would walk into the stores and there would be an album "Beatlemania" and on the back is said "sung by The Liverpools". There was Beatles merchandise everywhere - pictures, playing cards, all kinds of stuff!
I have NEVER seen another group or person attain the absolute MANIA the Beatles had in 1964. Nothing comes close!
Your turn Roland!!! |

The band that would evolve into the Beatles went through a number of names in their early years. Tell us one of these names. |

Yes, the Quarrymen were the first group that included John and Paul, and later George. Subsequent names included Johnny and the Moondogs and the Silver Beetles.
Your turn, fleetp. |

This might have been asked already. What was the relationship between Pete Best and the Beatles?
Feel free to use the Internet. |

I think he was their first drummer, before Ringo. |

What is the largest/worst Maritime Disaster in world history? The ship left port with 10,582 people on board and 9,343 died. Hint - it happened in 1945. |

The term "computer" has been around since the 17th century. What did it mean before its current meaning arose in the mid 20th century? |

Did it mean something that calculates, or "computes"? _________________ The Code is the Law. |
