Buck Owens co-wrote the song, but I don't think he ever performed it. I remember Archie Campbell singing with Clark in that segment. According to Wikipedia, the usual quartet for the "Gloom, Despair" segment was Roy Clark, Gordie Tapp, Grandpa Jones, and Archie Campbell. |

You could be right. My memory is starting to fade a little but I do remember that song. |

My brother and I watched that show every week. Disliked the music, but loved the comedy. Way better than Lawrence Welk, which my parents and grandparents were into. Disliked the music, and nothing was funny.
This is one of those things that I used to know, and may bubble to the surface, but so far all that's coming to me are the names of towns from The Beverly Hillbillies, and Petticoat Junction/ Green Acres shows. |

Hint the fictional place is a county and seems like they held up a sign in a field about it along with the population. Maybe that will ring some bells. |

I'm going to take a guess: Cornfield County.
I remember Misty Rowe was one of the lovely ladies who was a regular on Hee-Haw.

I was thinking they spelled it Korn field but I’m neither sure or picky and even if I was sure I wouldn’t be picky. Your turn fleetster. |

On the TV show Hee-Haw, one of the regular cast members was Junior Samples. His most famous bit was as a used car salesman, inviting callers to call an older five-digit phone number.
What was the five digit telephone number?
Feel free to do an internet search at any time. |

I used to watch the show now and then and liked it. Wish it were on TV again, we need it. |

Hee Haw re-runs still air weekly on the cable channel RFD-TV.
One of the Hee Haw honeys through its entire run was Gunilla Hutton. She is probably best remembered for the role of Nurse Goodbody.
Before Hee Haw, Hutton was a cast member on another rural-themed TV show. Name that show.

The show was Petticoat Junction.
Here's the next question: What was the name of the hotel on Petticoat Junction? |

There's a little hotel called the Shady Rest at the junction.
MeTV recently started airing Petticoat Junction episodes, and I've seen several of them in the past month.
Next question: Bea Benaderet, who starred in Petticoat Junction as Kate Bradley, was a veteran actress and voice actress who had previously played many roles, both in live-action sitcoms and in cartoons. Name any of her other roles. |

Or just name any of the series she participated in.
Benaderet's longest-running series began on radio before moving to TV, for a total of 16 years. That was followed immediately by a four-year stint on a cartoon series. |
