Is there a way for me to put my ship on auto pilot and I can just choose the city i want to go to from a list? Sailing half way across the map tends to bore me. |

On easiest difficulty, the game will ask you where you want to go to when you sail out to the open sea. _________________ It is much better to be armed with a sword that has two edges than with an estoc [...], which is nothing more than a stick with a point. Is there anyway to enable it for the higher difficulties? |

There's nothing to enable, no type of function exists to do what you want in the game. That which Wolfwood speaks of happens, occasionally, when you are sailing for an extended time, away from sight of land. It's just a pop-up that lets you select from about four different towns that are close by. There is an automatic transport feature in Phalzyr's trainer that spawns your ship to a location you choose from a list, that's as close as you can get, but then you miss all the juicy targets in between. |

Also - correct me if I am wrong - but it will be several hundred years before the Autopilot is invented - and Pirates - true to form - like the constant realistic way wind blows - you must also sail your Ship.
" Beam me up Scotty " would take all the fun out of it. |

True... But you could always assign the cabin boy to sail the ship for you. |

I think somebody else could steer the ship while the Captain is napping, or otherwise occupied...but think of the possible prizes you might miss by going straight to a city!
I always seek to make my trips pay for themselves- by taking a few enemy ships on the way.

That's how Columbus lost his flagship on his first voyage. Contrary to the admiral's orders, the officer assigned to steer the Santa Maria on the night watch let a boy take the wheel. The lad grounded the vessel on a submerged reef . . . |

:LOL: I don't think there any children in this game.. The youngest must be the character when he starts off the game.
Thanks for reminding me that piece of history... I remember reading it somewhere, maybe that is where I got the idea from... |

the "were far out at sea shall i set a cource" is trash. say your between maricaibo and petet goave and select campeche it wont take you to campeche itll just run you aground on the yucatan penninsula. so there isnt any autopilot in the game. just sail. _________________ Broadsides are stupid. Whats the point of both ships being damaged. If you evade them only they will be damaged. |

Aye, it doesn't seem to matter if you are prompted to set a course or not (which can happen only on Apprentice level, If I recall)- your ship will continue sailing in the same direction until you hit land or a key.
If an autopilot could steer between reefs near Coro, that would be a perk worth taking... _________________ Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves;

I have not played on Apprentice level for so long - that I forgot that this happened. |

In my first game, that was the level I played to the finish. So I remember it well.
Watching the flashing "cheat"signals was a distraction, though, so I moved up in levels. It made the game more enjoyable. _________________ Rule, Britannia! Britannia, rule the waves;

Aye. It simply much more efficient to keep thrusting on the lower levels. |
